A watched kettle...

I follow the manual's instructions to fill the water heater, then flick the water heater switch. Approximately how long does it take to reach the chosen temperature?
I've experimented with the van plugged into the mains and can tell that the water is getting warmer after a few minutes.
Once unplugged I've never been able to tell the difference when the heater's powered by the leisure battery, even after 10 minutes.
How long should I give it? I suspect the 12 volt heating element isn't working.

Hi there,
You have two elements to the water heater. The 240v and 12v with the 240v being quicker to heat. On top of the heater (under the sink unit) there are two dials to dictate the water temperature. Ensure you have these correctly set correctly.

P.S. They are hard to reach and hard to see.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for that, I agree that the two temperature dials are tricky to access. I suppose I'll just have to experiment more, if I leave it switched on for an hour and still can't feel any difference the 12v heater element must be suspect.

Ah, spot on! It's not looking good for the 12v element then.
I'll have a shufty and give it one last chance. Is there a big red, circular light on the end of the heater to show that it's in use?

That red light is the 240v side (I think). Mine comes on and off as the heater kicks in and out. (This caught us out during the night whilst on hook up - the heater kept kicking in and the light kept coming on which interrupted my wife who is a light sleeper.)

Thanks for the update, far more information than the manual! I wondered what happened once the water reached the chosen temperature and now I know, cheers.
All I've got to do now is persuade it to work, I've been using the kettle so far.
